The American Sewing Guild is a nationwide organization consisting of local chapters. The Orange County, California chapter has seven neighborhood groups that meet in the cities of Anaheim, Costa Mesa (combined with Fountain Valley), Fullerton (representing north Orange County), Huntington Beach, Lakewood (combined with Long Beach), Newport Beach and Lake Forest (representing south Orange County. In addition, there two specialty groups, Machine Embroidery and Wearable Art. The neighborhood groups are the heart of the chapter where members meet monthly to develop sewing skills, learn new techniques, share projects, obtain assistance and advice, and make sewing friends for life.
We have events that all members can attend such as the bi-annual Fashion Show and teaching programs with esteemed speakers and presenters. Our chapter also participates and encourages community service sewing to make items for the infirm, those engaged in cancer treatments, the homeless, children in foster care, young adults transitioning to adulthood from the foster care system and many other charitable organizations. Please check out our events page to see what exciting activities are planned. We welcome you and ask you to consider becoming a member today! Please come visit any neighborhood group meeting as our guest. You may attend two meetings to help you decide which meeting is best for you.
